I’ve made this with four different types of cornbread mix, all of which had some sugar, and the slight sweetness in the cornbread contrasted with the savory flavors is actually so so good! So I think a sweeter cornbread will be totally fine, but it will work with a lower-sugar cornbread too. I hope you love this one as much as we do! 🙂

As a vegetarian, I never get to eat the stuffing. Question for you: if you use a cornbread mix, does it matter the amount of sugar in it? Is the stuffing meant to have a little sweetness it, or should I use a low to no sugar mix?
