Hi Suzanne! Yeah, this is pretty close to mulled wine, isn’t it?! There’s also something called gluhwein – a German mulled wine that is similar and FABULOUS. I’ve been working a recipe for gluhwein for awhile now, thank you for reminding me to polish it off, photograph it, and get it published already! Anyway, this sangria recipe would probably work great hot. I’d throw it all in the Crock Pot (sans grapes), skip the ginger beer, and add the brandy and Triple Sec at the end of the process (so all the alcohol doesn’t burn off). Very curious how that would turn out, so if you try it, please report back. Here’s another mulled wine recipe that’s terrific too: http://www.kitchentreaty.com/crock-pot-cranberry-orange-mulled-wine/

I LOVE sangrias and am always looking to try new sangria recipes. With the addition of allspice and ginger beer… YUM!
